About

“They should tell you when you are born: have a suitcase heart, be ready to travel.”

~ Gabrielle Zevin

I’m Soleil Roth, an award-winning travel and food blogger who shares culturally-immersive travel advice from my own personal perspective through the lens of food and story-telling. My hope is to teach all kinds of people where, how and why travel; and with a focus on food as a lens to develop a greater understanding, awareness, and excitement of the world.

I started this blog when I was a freshman in college, having traveled a lot in my childhood due to being a competitive figure skater and only having one week of vacation a year to get out of the rink. Thus started the “go big or go home” mentality of traveling with my family to places we’ve always wanted to go for that one week. Over time, I fell in love with the escape and knowledge that travel brought and being the maximizer I am, I took to exploring and seeing as much as I could as often as I could, despite full-time school or jobs being priorities.

The relationship between a place and it’s food is a huge if not fundamental part of people’s traditions, culture, and the community itself. With every bite I take, I am constantly inspired with creativity and united with history and knowledge of a place in the most flavorful way.

When I think about all the moments that have made up my life, I would without a doubt count my experiences outside of my home as a major influence on how I see myself and the world around me. Twenty-four years young and a suitcase heart, I have been overwhelmingly blessed to experience the exceptional and extraordinary luxury of exploring. No matter what the journey, I’m ready to go wherever my heart takes me and I hope to take you all along with me.
